Mocha Mojo - Indra Nagar, Adyar

Its been quite a while since i blogged last and it seemed like I'd lost my passion ofr it. It suddenly struck me that if I merged two of my favourite things to do, it just might re-ignite the fire that rose in my brain all those years ago.

Food and the written word!

So I shall begin with the newest place I've visited and I mean newest in more than one sense of the word. Mocha is pretty famous in Madras (i will stil lrefuse to call it Chennai)what with the outlet on Khader Nawaz Khan (KNK for those in the know) Road becoming quite the cult favourite of the 20 somethings and the wannabe 20 somethings. Unfortunately, the more just slightly uncomfortable seating posed problems for people who's prosperity showed clearly in the weight or their posterity! Now a cycle rickshaw seat maybe cool to look at but its not really the most comfortable place to rest your tush.

That said, the food was something else. Especially the desserts with the awe inspiring vertigo claiming the numebr 1 spot on my list any day. I am yet to taste a better chocolate cake in the city. The Vertigo also has the advantage of being the largest cake around (in my opinion).

The new Mocha or lets be correct and call it by its brand name - Mocha Mojo, goes to the level Mocha only promised. With post modern decor and truly comfortable seating, the new space gives the term lounge a new dimension. Everything else has a vague hippie throwback and the staff are extraordinarily friendly. I've not had a lot of the food, because the menu is immense but from what I have, the food doesn't disappoint.

The pricing is a little on the steep side, but the quality of the fare and teh experience truly makes it worth the spend.

Check it out if you'd like a lazy Saturday afternoon or Sunday evening with the gang.
